The Question & My Answer

As I sit here today in my living room, looking out the window, I am contemplating life. Life and what is means to me, what it means to people around me. It is what we are in every moment of every day… life.

Deep huh? Yeah, that’s what I thought when it first came to my mind. I really was, in a moment, overwhelmed and almost baffled at how to answer my own question.

So how do I answer the question???

Life is many things. Life is complicated, life is simple. Life is happy, life is sad. Life is trials and hard times. Life is dreams coming true and falling in love.

Life is how you look at things. Are you a “glass half empty” or “glass half full” person. Are you hopeful or cynical? Your life is all your choices. So, how you look at things in life will ultimately determine your happiness in life.

Again I am overwhelmed and baffled. Life is a combination of choices and emotions and experiences. All of these will lead us to look back with a sigh of contentment or with a sigh of regret.

Lately my thoughts and prayers and time with God have truly impressed upon me the importance of each moment. Life has many moments and how you choose to live in those moments will determine how you lived. It won’t matter whether you had tons of friends, but rather friends who you cared deeply for. It won’t matter whether you were rich with money and possessions, but rather that you were rich in love and generosity. It won’t matter whether you had the best clothes, hair, or body, but rather that you were a beautiful person with a heart of compassion.

So when you look back on your life, make sure you left your mark on people’s hearts by loving them the way JESUS loves us. Make sure everyone you meet knows they are loved. To me that is was LIFE is all about.

abundant life

One Foot at a Time

Legs walking on beach

We place our feet, one in front of the other and we walk… we walk down a path. Where that path leads, we really have no clue, but we believe. What do we believe? We believe in the truth… Jesus. We believe that there is a path for us, the right path. One where we will find peace, joy, love… As we believe we know in our hearts that those there things, peace, joy and love, are what the Father wants for us. Why? Because He loves us. How do we know that? Because of Jesus… God the Father sacrificed His beloved Son for us, His children… because of His love for us… I know you have heard the famous, almost too often quoted verse,

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NLT)

God loved us that much. So don’t you think that he would be there to show you the right way, the right path, so you may have peace, joy and love? He not only wants us to have eternal life with Him, but also abundant life on earth…

Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. John 6:6-10 (MSG)

Abundant life, life full of peace, joy and love. “More than we ever dreamed of” as The Message Bible says. I like the sound of that. And, I believe in that, because I do believe my Father loves me that much and wants that for me. Follow His leading and walk the path He leads me to and He will shower His blessings on me.

If you’ll willingly obey,
you’ll feast like kings.                                                                                                                       Isaiah 1:19 (MSG)

I think I am ready… so now I place my feet, one in front of the other and head down the path of righteousness hand in hand with my Father.

One Little Word…

Be careful what you say

Even one little word can betray

One moment happiness

The next sadness

It turns that quick?

Yes… That quick.

I could go on and on

But what will my words become?

And where do you want them to go?

Do we even know?

One thing is for sure

Words can also cure

They bring light to darkness

And hope to emptiness

Words lift up weary souls

And fill up all the holes

Our heart are no longer broken

But full of words spoken

Words sent down from above

Words covered with The Father’s Love!
