Stop Trying… Trust

the fog

I sit here this morning, thoughts swirling around in my head, trying to grab just one and comprehend. But… that’s not possible. God doesn’t want us to comprehend, He wants us to trust.

The more I try to figure it all out, the further I move away from Him and into a state of confusion… definitely not a place I want to be. After all,  the Lord is not there, because He is not a God of confusion, and where confusion or chaos is present, it is not from God.

Now, it is important to also be aware that it will try to creep in. All the swirling thoughts might have to be sorted through, but that’s all, just sort and then put them aside. There is not a need to understand. The Father is where you receive understanding from.

Does that seem confusing? Yes, it might, in fact it almost seemed that way to me as I wrote it, but it really does make sense. Let me explain. We must process through the thoughts and determine which ones to keep and which ones to toss out. This process must be done with the Holy Spirit in order to prevent the confusion from seeping in. Holy Spirit will help us see clearly, even if we don’t understand.

The biggest nugget of wisdom I have gained recently is this… God is full of wisdom and love for me, and I only need to understand as He feels I am ready to understand, instead, I remain in His presence allowing Him to be in everything I do, say and think, and I will be fine.

This is HUGE for me, as I have always been a worrier and a planner. I made notes for my notes… every second of my day was planned out! Well almost… but, I was a nervous wreck, all the time! And now, I actually pack the night before a trip…!!! What? Yeah, for me that’s crazy, because in the past this would be done at least a week prior, maybe even sooner.

The Father is teaching me how to chill and not miss moments in life. In that, I am growing in my trust of Him and where He is taking me in this journey. My life can be full of worry and doubt and anxiety and fear, as my past 40 years have been, or it can be full of adventure and friendships and family and love and timeless moments where I can live life abundantly with my Lord.

So, as I sit here and the thoughts have now subsided from their swirling, a peace has settled instead and an excitement is growing inside… today is a new day that has just begun. I ask my Father, as an excited child would… Daddy, what will we do and where are we going today? Because, I am ready to go with you!!!

Always, everywhere, GOD is present, and always HE seeks to discover Himself to each one. ~A.W. Tozer

My Journey to Freedom

My journey has begun. I am no longer the person I was, but neither am I the person I will be. The process has been initiated and I am ready. In this process, I am expectant. The Lord is changing me from the inside out. It has already started. There has been pain, and many tears. The shedding off, the breaking away of all the crap that needed to be gone. I only use crap, because that is truly the best word to describe that stuff the Lord has been digging out of me. Things like fear, fear of everything! In fact, my fear was so intense, that it brought on anxiety and then because of the anxiety, depression. It was a wonder that I was able to function at all throughout my life. His strength was always in me and that is the only reason why. But just His strength is not enough… I needed to break off the spirit of fear that was debilitating to my life!

I had a revelation about two and a half months ago, that fear was the root of most of my issues. Fear was blocking me from receiving the fullness of life the Father had for me. Fear was preventing me from truly living the abundant life! Once that revelation sunk in, the Father and I began working on breaking all of those fears off. All I can say is, it has been difficult but also freeing! I have had some major breakthrough, and in those moments, I have finally begun to believe in me and how God sees me.

So, in this process, I, with Holy Spirit right beside me, have come face to face with many of my fears. There have still been some anxiety in those moments, but more courage than fear. I still have work to do, but I am no longer afraid, at least not like I was. More importantly, I am aware of this side of me now, and am equipped on how to walk with Holy Spirit through it. In the beginning of this process, I received a very profound word which catapulted me into conquering this head first; if I am trusting God, then why would I be afraid of anything, because He is the protector of all. Moreover, just because I am afraid doesn’t mean I can prevent anything from happening, but rather might increase the severity of it because of my fear and anxiety! In that moment, I realized that I was not in control, and so I didn’t need to be fearful. And, the weight that had been on me my entire life, began to lessen. What a feeling!!! It was amazing!

My fears are not completely gone, I know there is still work to be done. But, I am already changed and my walk is so much lighter and more free. My life experiences are already abundant, because I am taking risks and trusting the Father in every step. I have finally embarked on my adventure to a fuller life and I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for me!!!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be
with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

faith (1)

Do you have faith? How do you know if you have faith? You might think you have faith, but maybe not. Or maybe you do have faith, but it could be more. Some of your are like, yeah, I hear you. I know exactly what you are saying. My faith could be deeper, stronger, more blind even. Others of you are really not understanding. You are saying to yourself, of course I have faith, I believe… don’t I?

Well, check this out. If you have ANY doubt, any at all, your faith is not as complete as it can be. And honestly, you are missing out. Having this blind faith is beyond what you could even imagine, until you feel the ultimate peace that comes with it.

So, how do we get that?

Faith is defined as, a belief in God based on spirituality rather than proof. A good verse in scripture that backs up that definition is from the book of Hebrews…

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)

Faith, then is not something we can physically touch or feel, but rather something we know. We believe in God.

Now, there are steps to growing in faith. In most cases, we don’t believe fully at first. This is often a result of our mind not being able to grasp the “idea” of God. It just doesn’t make sense on so many levels. Thus the battle between our heart and our mind ensues yet again.

As we learn more about God and His nature, we often will grow in our faith. God even helps with this part. How? Well, as we spend time in prayer, worship and in His Word, we are spending time with Him. In this time, the Father allows us to know Him and feel Him. These kinds of moments increase our faith.

Trust is directly related to faith. How much we trust the Lord affects the amount of faith we have and vise versa. Having faith in the Father is believing the words He tells us and trusting that He will follow thru on His promises. He tells us He will, but we still have to decide to believe Him. Abraham believed… as did many others in Biblical history.

yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.  Romans 4:20-21 (NASB)

The mustard seed is often referenced when faith is the topic of discussion. Faith of a mustard seed is the phrase used. This is very profound. The mustard seed is tiny, as sometimes our faith may seem in the beginning.

Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. 32 It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.”  Matthew 13:31-32 (NLT)

As the mustard seed is planted and it grows, it becomes the largest plant and ultimately becomes a tree in the garden… just like our faith, as we sow into our belief and trust in God’s promises into our heart, our faith grows until it is the largest tree in our heart’s garden. Once we are consumed by this HUGE faith… everything else flows out of it in goodness and love.

Believe today…have faith as the Father continues to be faithful to you and me. The faith growing inside of you will only draw you closer to Him and allow you to feel the presence of God even more. In that presence of trust and blind faith, peace covers you, a peace that only is found in the Father’s love. Allow your faith to continue to grow today and share with others. Walk in faith, peace and love.

3 Day Quote Challenge:Day 2…Be You

Day two of the 3 Day Quote Challenge  that erhynireh has challenged me to…

Here’s my quote…

Who are you? What makes you tick? What drives you? What sets your soul on fire???

I really love this quote because it challenges me. It challenges me to go after my passion, my love… my calling.

Each of us has a calling. God has created each of us unique and special. We are one of a kind in everything we say and do. Our place in the world is necessary and specific.

I believe that we each have an assignment from the Lord as to what He wants us to do with our lives. I also believe that He makes that known by the passions and the desires He places in our hearts.

Sometimes, it is a matter of timing. We go after something that we feel we are being called to do and well it doesn’t happen. Don’t give up on that calling, yourself or God. Have faith and believe that He’s still preparing you for that season.

Never stop believing in yourself and what you have to offer the world. Have faith in the God who created you. Know that he has plans for your life and they are plans for good…

jeremiah 29

Sometimes the disappointment, or the closed door is merely God wanting to see your heart. Show Him you trust Him and move on. He will open up a new door, provide a new opportunity.

God has amazing things planned for each of our lives… beginning, middle and end. Our stories will be FULL and will reflect Him. Let Him guide your path. Let Him continue to fire you up in your soul. Let Him replace your fear with passion and love… then let Him use you in the capacity that you were designed for!

Now, here are the next three fellow bloggers that I challenge to take on the 3 Day Quote Challenge:

Let the Light In

My Paint Splattered Life

Life as a mommy

Enjoy… have fun and don’t forget… YOU are unique and YOU are LOVED!!!

Life is full of so many things. Moments creating memories. These are the seasons in life.

SEASONS of happiness

SEASONS of sadness

Even though some seasons might seem almost unbearable, and you cannot wait for them to be gone. You have the ones that you will want to remember and even relive over and over because they were so amazing!

Each season brings opportunities.

Opportunities to FORGIVE

Opportunities to LOVE

Each moment is a deciding factor in what will happen next. And what happens next defines who we are. Who we are is determined by how we respond in happiness and sadness…

Lord lead me

Character is strengthened throughout the seasons in life. Or, character is broken down. Choosing to follow God and His will for your life will help you in making better choices… choices that will lead you to a fullness of life.

Fullness of life…ABUNDANCE

As the Father intended for all of us. Abundance in happiness AND in sadness, because JESUS is with us through ALL of it!!! And with Him walking beside us in each season, we are stronger.

Seasons come and seasons go. Things in our life change, CONSTANTLY. It’s a mere fact of life. And unfortunately, a lot of our seasons and life experience are really ones we would rather have a “do-over” on! But, as I believe the LORD has a plan, I also believe that our strength and character come from EVERY season we walk through.

Every tear we cry, makes us stronger

Every smile we share, makes us stronger

Every broken heart, makes us stronger

Every prayer we speak, makes us stronger

Every time we choose love… we are made stronger

Every time we mirror JESUS and respond in HIS love… we walk with the FATHER.

And one thing I know to be true is walking with the FATHER is the ONLY place I ever want to be. WHY???

A season with HIM is ALWAYS better than one without HIM!!!
